Book & Media Donations
The Friends are currently accepting donations offsite during limited hours. Donations are NOT accepted at ANY Boise Public Library location.
If you have books and media in good, sellable condition (please see the green box at the bottom of this page for currently accepted items), you can bring it to our new location across the street from the Main Library at 762 River Street on non-holiday Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 11AM and 1PM. We can accept a limited number of boxes due to space constraints. Please donate only items in sellable (free from water damage/mold, with intact spines, and no missing/torn pages) condition.
To confirm which days and times we are accepting donations, please click the “Schedule a Donation Dropoff” button below. No appointment is needed during open dropoff times, but if you would like to schedule one to receive an email reminder, you may do so after checking the calendar:
Donations must be boxed or bagged for transport by our volunteers. Boxes and bags cannot be returned.
If you have a large collection (over 10 boxes) that you wish to donate, please contact the Friends at treecitybooks@gmail.com with a description of the size, type, and condition of the collection. In certain circumstances, special arrangements may be made to accept large donations, but they must be pre-approved.
All proceeds from sales of donated material go to benefit the Boise Public Library. Your generous donations make our community sales and bookshop a success.
The Friends is a 501(3)(c) organization. Please let the volunteer know if you would like a donation receipt at the time of drop off.
The Donation Bin is not available at this time. All donations must be made during our posted hours.
We do not have the ability to accept donations at ANY Library location.
